Crockpot Comfort: Mississippi Mud Chicken Bliss
Ingredients
- 1 (3-pound) chuck roast, pork roast, chicken thighs, or chicken breast (used chicken thighs in this recipe)
- 6 pepperoncini peppers (use peppers only, no liquid)
- 1 (1 oz) packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 (0.4 oz) package buttermilk ranch dressing (such as Hidden Valley®)
- 1 stick of Land-o-Lakes salted butter (chopped)
Instructions
- Arrange the chicken thighs in the base of the slow cooker.
- Spread the following over the chicken thighs:
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 package buttermilk ranch dressing (0.4 oz)
- Avoid adding water or any other liquid.
- Chop up the stick of Land-o-Lakes salted butter and lay it over the top.
- Place the pepperoncini peppers on top of the chicken thighs. Do not add water or any other liquid.
- Cook on low for 5-6 hours in the crockpot.
- Serve the deliciously cooked chicken thighs over rice or mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal.

- Feel free to adjust the cooking time based on your crockpot's settings and the type of meat you choose.
- Experiment with different meats like pot roast or pork roast using the same flavorful combination.
