Crockpot Comfort: Mississippi Mud Chicken Bliss

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-pound) chuck roast, pork roast, chicken thighs, or chicken breast (used chicken thighs in this recipe)
  • 6 pepperoncini peppers (use peppers only, no liquid)
  • 1 (1 oz) packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 (0.4 oz) package buttermilk ranch dressing (such as Hidden Valley®)
  • 1 stick of Land-o-Lakes salted butter (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the chicken thighs in the base of the slow cooker.
  2. Spread the following over the chicken thighs:
    • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
    • 1 package buttermilk ranch dressing (0.4 oz)
  3. Avoid adding water or any other liquid.
  4. Chop up the stick of Land-o-Lakes salted butter and lay it over the top.
  5. Place the pepperoncini peppers on top of the chicken thighs. Do not add water or any other liquid.
  6. Cook on low for 5-6 hours in the crockpot.
  7. Serve the deliciously cooked chicken thighs over rice or mashed potatoes for a satisfying meal.

Tips:

  • Feel free to adjust the cooking time based on your crockpot's settings and the type of meat you choose.
  • Experiment with different meats like pot roast or pork roast using the same flavorful combination.
